1990 dakota 3.9L wont start(need help asap)
i have a 1990 dakota that wont start its not getting any fuel or spark..it just cranks over and over..im wondering if maybe its the crank sensor? but i'm not sure where its located so i can check it..also i heard someone say something about a spark box??? anyone knowing anything about this problem can you please help me out..thanks
Heres a try, on the drivers side under your fuse/relay box, the cluster of wires running along your fender well hooking into that box, peal the covering away from the wires looking for a connection of 2 wires into 1, it will probably have a green rotting corrosion surrounding the area and be toward the center of all the wires. This Y connection is part of your ignition and it is very common that it'll come apart from the corrosion causing your prob. Just cut the connector out and use a butt connector or similiar connection. Hope this helps.
You don't have a crank sensor on throttle body inj. Sounds like an ASD (auto shut down) relay maybe. Can you hear the fuel pump run when you first turn the key to the on position?
