Default Fuel Gauge Problem (Broken)

My fuel gauge needle is broken for years. It started to fluctuate crazy at first and now it always stays at the bottom (Empty) regardless.

I heard this is a common problem for the Dakota and Ram pickups... Any one got the same problem? Any fix? [sm=thanx.gif]

It is a problem that some have. My friend has a 95 Dakota, 2wd, 5.2, and his gauge did the exact same thing. Well after pulling the box off numerous times and try to figure out what the hell was wrong with it, we found out that the float was hitting the side of the tank and wouldnt allow it to move. We flipped it up side down and it fluctuates a little but still gives you a semi accurate reading.
