Default Tranny vibration

[sm=dontgetit.gif] Hey guys I need some help. I have a 96 Dakota with a 3.9 auto 2wd with 160,000 miles. About a week ado I noticed a heavy vibration (I think in the tranny) when it would shift into 3rd gear on. I should rephrase, it shifts fine through all gears, but when I'm driving, and it is in 3rd gear on up, it has a bad vibration. 1st and 2nd gears are fine with no vibration and as soon as it gets into 3rd and 4th it vibrates bad enough to rattle my jack under the back seat. I dropped the pan about 10,000 miles ago changed the fluid and filter and the levels are fine. Is my tranny about to bomb out? Any ideas???

Sounds like a torque converter shutter.

It might be motor mounts or tranny mount or driveshaft ujoints.

I wouldhave to say a trans mount, U-joint seized up or something with your drive shaft. I had a U-joint seize up once and it would vibrate like hell, but only at certain speeds. I would say look at there first. Good luck
