Help me, Please, Code 42 I can't find reset
According to the book I have I should be able to clear this with a reset button. But the book doesn't tell you where it is. It won't start, and when I put the code reader on it that is what I got. I have looked all around can't find it. I have unhooked the battery.
It is a 1994 Dodge Dakota 2 wheel drive with AT/AC I dont know if that makes a difference but it might.
I love my truck and need it.

The way you rest it is by disconnecting the battery for about a min. Then the comp. memory is erased.
If you needed to know a code 42 is Fuel pump relay control ckt, Auto shutdown relay control ckt, No ASD relay output voltage at PCM, Fuel level sending unit volts out of range, Fuel level unit No change over miles
A full list of codes are here https://dodgeforum.com/m_63384/tm.htm

RE: Help me, Please, Code 42 I can't find reset
Thanks, but I tried that already. The good news is that I found the trouble. It was wire corrosion under the fuse box under the hood and once the wires were cleaned and spliced back together. Truck started and ran fine. Sorry should of said I tried disconnecting the battery.
Posting this in case someone else has a problem, evidently it is a small factory defect the loom isnt closed well right there. Years of the battery shifting slight wears into the wires I assume. My battery tie down had brokenand I decided to fix that and noticed wires worn and corroded.
I agree with you too trucks should never be lowered mine is stock, but sits on bigger tires and wheels.
