You have a lot of questions. I will try to answer them all. You could also do a search. A LOT of this stuff has been discussed before. And problably better detail than I can give. You can also go to the FAQ at the top of this sub-forum.
The tranny should have a shift cable you can adjust. It controls when your tranny shifts up and down.
The bolt pattern is 6x4.5 I belive 90-up dakotas and duragos have the same pattern. NO OTHERS. Some durango wheels might have differnt back spacing or something so take some messurments first.
The transfer case should have a lable on it. Its a np231 with a 2.72low ratio.
The rear axle is ether a 8.25 or 7.25. The front is a 7.25. the 8.25 has a olval cover. They both came with 3.55 or a 3.21 or 3.9 opt. Some with LSD.
You can do the shackles to lift the rear as well as blocks add a leaf air shocks air bags, for the front reindexable keys or the full lift kit. Do a search I wrote up a nice lift kit post.
The ebay people overcharge alot. There most commen reason is the handleing cost, like boxes and tape and penuts. Total BS! But just keep on searching. There was a company listed on some post that sells aftermarket lights for a good price. Do a search.
The door hindge is a commen problem on our trucks. I had to rebend mine and weld it up once too.
The first connector that is by the headlight I belive is for daytime lights. Mine is unpuged to.
The second that is by the fire wall is the all data connector. If you have a check engine light that is where you plug it into. theConnector on the fire wall that has a broken tab is the blower motor resitor. The tabs that are broken are that way. dont worry!
The transfercase leak is probly caused by a worn out seal on the transfercase or tranny.
The Vacuum lines are emissins and blower doors and cruze control. There should be a lable under the hood to say where they go. If not go to autozone.com they have diagrams. The ball is a vacuum reserve fot eh cruze control and blower doors.
The oil stains sucks. Get a big pice of carpet to put underneth it to soke it up.
And Last but not least NICE JEEP! If I missed anything let me know

The Bolt Pattern to a Dodge Dakota is 6 x 4.5...not 6 x 5.5, that is a chevy/toyota/nissan bolt pattern. Found that out when I tried to but some Turbine Wheels on mine off a 1984 Chevy Truck.

btw thanks for the advice. ive done quite a bit of work to it consider i have 2 jobs and take night classes. so far ive got the powersteering leak fixed, welded the living daylights out of the door (used a backing plate inside the door, and ran a bolt throgh the backing plate and hinge, and welded it up good and solid, adjusted stricker and latch, now it opens like new!) cleaned the engine bay a little bit, pushed out all the dents in the hood, knocked out a few dents that were on the bed. tomorrow im going to seafoam/flush/refill the transmission, seafoam/flush/refill the powersteering, pressuer wash undercarriage, work on tranny/tc leak.

now im thinking about putting a scoop on the hood, in fact im going to bid on one on ebay. where did you get your open element at and what did you do to the sensor that was on the intake tube?

anyways, hopefully ill get all this stuff done this weekend, then the nexct i should have the hood, roof, and part of the bedside in expoxy/bodyfiller/primer filler, then the next have it in color! then after that ill work on the interior, change out headliner and might put an overhead console in.

Sounds like you got alot done. I bought my k&n open air filters from summitracing.com They have good prices. My truck didnt have a sensor on the intake tube But Im guessing it would be a air temp sensor. You can cut a hole on the bottom pan to make it work with it.
What kind of hood scoop are you going to add on. The add on's or the entire hood. There is a good site for the entire hoods. I just bought my add on's from jegs.com I made them functional.
