Well, just as the title says, I have a 1988 Dakota with a 2.2L and a 5 speed. I got it from a buddy of mine and he just had it sitting in a field. After 6 months of him working on it he couldn't get it to run more than 5-10 seconds at a time. I bring it home, mess with it for 20 minutes and get it to run. Now, the problems I am having with it. You have to hold your foot to the floor on the gas pedal to get it to fire up, when it does start it wont idle, you have to keep on the gas. Any idea as to why this is happening? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
