Default Lift a 2WD

specs on the truck are as follows 1988 2.2L 5 speed reg cab short bed 2WD. I am wanting to build the truck as a back roads runner, nothing special. I am thinking of putting coils from a V8 truck under the front and a 2" bodylift and 31" tires. Will this work? What would be the best way of lifting this truck to level it out? any help is appreciated

I wouldnt. That little 2.2 will not like carrying around those big tires.

Ya the 2.2 might not be the best power but if you like it! keep it! You can get v8 coils, as well as coil spacers that will give you 2in lift. You should also replace the gears in the rear end. To give you more torque to turn the tires with out hurting power and gas milage. The rear you can do spacers blocks or add a leaf or air shocks or airbags. and the body lift is for 4wd but it will work for 2wd you just need to weld in a spacer for the steering shaft. For coil spacers go to summitracing.com
