Default Lifting a 1994 Dodge Dakota

Hey all,

I just got handed a 1994 Dodge Dakota. Its unfortunatly 2WD. I am planning on fixing it up a little bit and having some fun with it- just looks wise. I won't be doing any off roading, towing, hauling, or anythign with it.

I want to put 35's and about 7 inches of lift. 3" body and somewhere around 4" suspension. Silver Dimond plate tool box in the back, Brush Guard in the front. have it repainted black (since the roof is rusted and the emerald green would probably be hard to match)

I have had 0 luck finding ANY suspension lift kits for a 2WD 1994 Dodge Dakota. Is it possible to take a 4WD kit and use it on a 2WD? Or does anyone know where I can find a lift kit for a 1994 2WD Dakota? Or can i use a 1996 Lift kit for a 1994? OR any other ideas or solutions? Or am I SOL?

Thanks,
BH

I found that, but it doesn't specify price, truck type, or 2 or 4 wd. Just wondering if someone with more expertise would know if that would be at all useful to me. I know superlifts are pretty good for the money

A 4wd lift kit should work, I don't see any differeces in them anyway. The kit you lionked to, however, is for the full size and probably won't work. I know there are lift kits for the 'kota out there, just don't have a link on me at the moment. Will post one later when I have the time to look it up, unless someone beats me to it, lol.

Here is the 4wd lift kit http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/dodge_dak4WD.htm
I dont think they will work for a 2wd. The control arms are different inbetween the two.
Check out http://app4.websitetonight.com/proje...merica.com.pdf
pg27,29
You can get 2in up front easly. any more than that will have to be custom work
You can buy 1in spacers and one on top and one on bottom, or get a 2in and use a 1 in with it. 3in
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku
You can get air shocks and make some backets to get another 1 to 2in (rear kits avalible for exact fit)https://www.shockshopusa.com/air-shocks.html
You can get air bags to replace your coils. They are custom instalation (rear kits avalible for exact fit)

But if your looking for 7inyou will have to add somekind of spacer to move the lower control arm down.
The rear would be easy with spacerblocks or add a leaf or a full set of higher bent leaf springs. Check out summitracing.com jegs.com jcw.com ebay.com for anything you might need.
You can also get a body lift. 2in They are made only for 4wd but 2wd will work just have to weld in a spacer for the steering saft.

As far as lifting the rear suspension I beleive the 2wd has spring under axle leafs, so a spring over axle conversion will give you 4-6 inches of lift. As for the front, I don't think it will be as easy. The 4wd Dakota lift is made to lower the front diff, and torsion bars from the frame, which you don't have. The kit is also over $1200. You will probably have to fabricate lower control arm lowering brakets, and some brakets or spacers to either relocate the upper control arms, or create a ball joint relocation. similar to the 4wd lift.
