i have a 92 4 cylinder dakota and blew a hole in the diff cover and was woundering if the rear axle from a 95 v6 dakota would fit? Both trucks are the same wheelbase/bodystyle and have manual trannys.
Your truck should have a 7 1/4 diff ,and the 6 might have an 8 1/4. Check the diff cover to see if they look the same. If they are different you may need the driveshaft also. And I think the 96 went to 6 bolt wheels.
Well I swaped out everything already both rearends had 10bolts on the diff cover and were 6-hole but the driveshaft U-Joints where beefer/bigger on the V6 than on the I4... so I used the V6 driveshaft and it actually fit in the tranny. go fig...
