i need to know where the number one spot is on the distributor cap.....i think after i find the number one it goes 1,3,4,2 in clockwise....any help please???? any other thoughts on the timing...

 

First plug wire goes on top left of the distributor, while looking straight at the distributor, then the top right is number 3,4 is bottom right, 2 is bottom left, firing order is 1,2,3,4 on the 2.2 and the 2.5. The timing on these is almost too easy to notice an issue, depending on how many miles you have, you may need to change it out, if the belt breaks the four cylinder is a 'non-interference' and you won't have the bent valve issue that can be found on like the 3.0L. engine just won't start
