Default Vibration damper installtion

Whats the best way and easiest to get the damper on there? I was thinkin of gettin like a foot long piece of all thread in 3/4 and thread it in the crank andthen thread a nut on there to press it in. Or can I just tighen the the crank bolt to get it in to place?

Install a bolt in one of the pulley bolt holes. Attach a breaker bar, extension and socket to the damper retaining boltand immobolize the crank shaft by wedging a large screwdriver between the bolt and the socket, turn the breaker bar to remove the retaining bolt. You may need to use a puller on the damper itself after the retaining bolt is removed.

Your threaded rod idea is the proper way to do it. When I don't have the right tool on hand. I tap it on with a rubber or plastic malet. Then pull it on the rest of the way with the bolt. You don't want to hit it with anything solid. Because you will be beating the crank into the thrust bearing.

just put the dampner on there and start the bolt and hit it with an impact till it wont turn any more, works every time!!! it calls for 185 ft lbs i think, so i just did it that way, on the v6 and 318, works fine every time.
