hay guys need ta know how to add better gas milage and add horsepower....!!!!!!
i just bought a practically new 87 dodge dakota with >>>>>>>94000.........miles on it very fine driving truck but i want more hp....and better advise as to do with mpg....can yall help me out give some advice what to buy and stuff i really apriciate it....thanks mike...
There are several things to do. Get new spark plugs wires dis. cap and rotor. high per. coil. mopar high per. comp. headers wider exhast pipes. new engine oil, tranny oil, diff. fuild. air filter. larger trottle body.
if i had an 87 dakota i would get rid of the computer system and put a LA 360 in it, but that is me. i think performance wise those trucks are pretty limiter, with them not being a magnum engine. pretty much everything crazy said except i dont think the make a mopar computer for the 87. as for gas mileage....motorcycle??? lol. all the stuff listed should help your milage too if you choose to do so.
hay man i have a friend that will sell all of this wat should i get from him heres wat he has.......complete engine 1996. It has a thrown rod so the bottom end is shot but the heads and intake and camare still good. I believe it has the roller cam assembly which should be used in the conversion. Before the rod let go it was running well according to the previous owner.
It has the throttle body and injectors. I also have a wiring harness from a 99 along with the distributor and sensors. Should be almost everything needed to convert one over to a magnum... let it all go for the $150[/align]

i have a 94 dakota 4wd,3.9 V6, with 88,000 miles on it when i first got it i was averaging between 10 and 12 mpg but with a little bit of work and a little bit of money i now get 18-23 mpg. hollowed out cat. , edelbrock air intake($40), flowmaster muffler ,new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, advanced the timing and running 89 octane through it....a little bit of work can make a big difference

im averaging about 3 miles more per gallon on my 89 running slightly larger tires at 50 psi each and adding a tonnue cover for the back. dont know which did it as i put the tires and tonnue on at the same time but i think the higher tire pressure does alot. the truck went from 14 up to about 17.5 mpg

My '92 4x43.9 gets a consistent 18 mixed driving, all I've done to it is slightly larger tires (more wide than diameter), new plugs, and new air filter, next is a cat delete
