new the form with a tired dakota
hello everyone.
So i been on the form for a lil bit now. I love the 4x4 dakota you guy have. anyways My father bought a 92 dakota club cab 2 wheel drive 3.9l with natural gas injection in like 96, and he drove in till about two months ago when he brought a newer 01, same as the 92 with the 5.9l (I think) and no natural gas. So where I'm going with this story is when i was about sixteen (I'm 20 now) my father said when he buys a new truck I can have the old one. So I have spent the last 4 years trying to get my dad to buy a new truck. and finally he has lol. Back to the truck its has over 400000 kms, the insterment panel was replaced not sure when, but the dash reads 364886 kms. Body is in ok shape, its been a long battle between dad and RUST lol. luckly he ran into a single cab 2.2l from Arizona which took the doors, box, hood, and tailgate. also the First big repair job i done was a hole in the drivers side floor about 4' x 6'. after cutting away the rust it was about 16' x 16'. lol looks good now! and the only crappy part is the natural gas still works but the only pump in town will not allow it to be filled with out the tank and lines inspected. quoted price was 200$ to inspect. i dont even wanna now what the replacement cost are. passes etest for my dad with flying colours couple months ago, the funny parts is that is the first time it ever passed lol. all he did was didn't use natural gas and a new cat. thats about it but she will be on the road again in the next week, cant wait.

Welcome to the forum! The 92 would have a 5.2 v8. Thats sweet you have a natrual gas truck. I have never seen one in person. How is the gas milage, Power. Sounds like you have done a lot of work on it. Post up some pics of the gas set up.
no the 1992 is a 3.9 v6 and my dads 2001 v8. I dont know how to measure milage for natural gas vehicles. but the natural tank will last as long as the gas tank, but its half the price. and the power sucks. the only ***** my truck has are the two natural gas tanks that hang below the bumper. ya i post pics as soonas its on the road.

So...did you have a question somewhere in there? I personally didn't really understand most of that.
