No fuel problem
I have an 88 dodge Dakota fuel injected and I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel pump relay and it still isn’t getting any gas. I originally replaced the pump cause there was power at the plug on the gastank. After I replaced the pump suddenly there was no power at the plug on the gas tank anymore. I also manually tested the old and new pumps and both are good. I also replaced the fuel pump relay. It still will not get any gas, it will fire if I pour gas thru the throttle body. 2 of the 4 wires going to the relay are live with a test light, 1 is live all the time and 1 only when the key is on. What else could be wrong, ive spent a lot of time and money and about to torch it. Thanks.
Hi and thanks for the reply. Is there a ground wire going from the plug on top of tank to the frame somewhere or does it go all the way up to the engine compartment?? Also is there a fuel kill switch that shuts the power off to the fuel pump in the evnt of an accident? This is an 88 and the first year for fuel injection on dakotas. Thanks.
