stalling in water

Default stalling in water

i gota 95 dakota prerunnner 2.5l and every time i drive through water or splash it to hard my truck kinda studders is it possible for it to get water in air intake box ? is there a possibleway with the 2.5l to move the intake behind the grill to prevent this i dont need a blown head gasket[align=right]

Yeah, you're probably getting water in the intake. I don't see why you couldn't move the intake back. Or if you could somehow fab up some ductwork so that it takes in air from the engine bay rather than from the grill.

ill prob get some k and n intake system piping im wondersing if i shoud face the intake toward botom of bay or facing the engine ill post a pic when its done

Ya the biggest cause with water is that is being sucked downthe manifold. Have you noticed if inside your intake is wet when i dies?
I had to rig up the air filter tube to get its air by the battery. There is a post on it if you want to do a search. But it also could be your electonics getting wet. from the dist. to coil to comp to any wire. Make sure you make that distributer water tight. I had my truck stall out on me in the middle of a huge mud hole due to a bad coil wire that shorted out when it got wet. (you can see the video at my youtube). The worst thing about it was I had to get pulled out by my cousins chevy. I failed all of you! BUT I would have gotten out with my own power if that damn wire didnt fail.
