Hello everybody. I have a ground strap approximately a quarter inch wide and 8 to 10 inches long hanging from the firewall not attached to anything. It looks as though it was fastened to the engine block or tranny at one time. Could someone take a looksee at their truck and help me out. Thanks !!!

 

Thinking off of memory, it does go to the engine. The ground strap is not critical but it does help keep battery flow better. So get it hookup as soon as possible to keep your truck its best.

 

it screws into the back of the drivers side head, i remember it cuz it was a bish the first time i did it.

 

Did you figure it out? because i will be happy to go take a picture of my 96 3.9 for you if you want.

is it a black 10 gage wire genter of fire wall . there is a bolt on the back of the driver side of the head or the block. it goes through the fire wall an connects to the ground strap to ground everything under dash.
