Default Front diff problem. correction BIG PROBLEM

Ok I blew my front diff carriage up 2 months ago... put a used one in and also the rare limited slip rear end. The rear end is fine now I blew up the front diff carriage again just by driving down the highway at 105KM or 65MPH. First problem. snapped a U-Joint then i pulled my drive shaft off. next jacked the front up. turned the wheels and a loud clank came from in the diff. then I realized I could slide my axle in and out of the case. pulled the cover and the carriage is now in two pieces.

Are you sure the front and rear axles have the same ratio? That'd be a real quick way to destroy driveline compnents.

ya both ratios are the same. but now I have another problem. the tranny is stuck in first and sometimes i can manually get it to shift into second. the oil isn't low and doesn't smell burnt. is that a clutch pack or band adjustment problem maybe?

What Kind of abuse are you looking to do? What kind of mods are you going to do?Your main cause would be that the ring and pinion are miss adjusted, or something shifted out of place, or something bent or broken that you didnt replace! Maybe take your diff to a shop to have it professional done. Some shops will warrnity it if it brakes. I do alot of offroading with rock crawling to mudd to everything. I have a 5.9 high horsepower enigne with 33in tires with 3.9 gears with rear locker, the list go on. And under everything I have done i havnt broken anything! It takes alot to kill

Ya. By mods I ment mods to make the front axle stronger. Mainly all we play in is mud and snow. I guess its time to rebuild it again. thanks for all the help

Definitely sounds like an alignment issue, but it is possible that you got a bad front diff. It was used.
