my friend is buying an 89 dakota....

good:
3.9L v6
single cab
short bed
very nice interior
bad:
rust
160,000 miles
paint is pealing
needs a whole new suspension

my friend is gettign it for 300 bucks and wants to fix it up and keep teh original engine.....is it worth it??

300 bucks and only 160k is a pretty darn good dealif it's in decent RUNNING condition (driveable). Rust is easy to get rid of, as long as it's not all the way through in large patches or on corners (especially window edges). Peeling paint, 125 bucks at maaco (til you can afford better). Suspension, shocks and springs, easy 2 hour replacement and cheap parts. Without being there to see exactly what all needs to be done with it, I'd say jump on it.

yea.....i told him that the v6's (3.9L) get about the same amout of millage as the 4.7's......but idk if they came wit them that eairly.......
hes gonna sen me some pix here soo so i can get a better idea of what all is wrong.....what i told you was all that he told me so im not fully sure
