Default Back...this time with a truck

Well I am back on the forums, this time I actually have a Dakota. Back when I was looking for a first vehicle I wanted a 1992-1996 Dodge Dakota 4x4 but couldnt find anything so I ended up buying a Locked and Lifted 1992 K1500. Well since the truck I bought a Cavalier for $550 that needed some work and traded it the way I bought it for a 1992 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with a 318, automatic. I think I may fix the truck up and make it look good and maybe sell it, but if there is not too much interest in it I am considering buying a 1981 Dodge D150 4x4 and doing a SAS into the Dakota using the D150 axles and leafs. I will have quite a few question about the truck and here are a few pictures of it, mechanically it is sound, but doesnt have looks.

And then one of the Chevy I got instead of buying a Dakota.

Tell me what you think of the Dakota, keep it and SAS it or fix it up, sell it and make about $1500-$2000 in profits?

Looks like a good project truck. A SAS would be a great upgrade. The stock setup can take a lot of abuse. A SAS would only be needed if you wanted to do some serious abuse like to do rock craw racing! The only bad thing about getting 1981 Dodge D150 4x4 is I belive the pumpkin on the front axle is on the passenger side the dakota is on the driver side. You would have to get a transfer case adapter to flip it around. Under the FAQ there is a site where someone has a great write up.

I will be putting quite a bit of abuse on the truck, but will try to keep it in good shape at the same time. I didnt realize that the pumpkin's were on different sides and might have to look for another donor vehicle with the pumpkin to the proper side. I did do a bit of searching and found a light brown ECSB dakota with a SAS but am unsure what he got his axles out of and also found another SAS dakota on cardomain and he got the Axle out of a jeep and i guess it fit good. I will have to do some more research still.
