Default o2 sensor eliminator?

My o2 sensor is causing my truck to intermittently run rich and when it does it falls on its face then catches on a few seconds later. does anyone know of a o2 sensor eliminator or a way to get rid of it without the engine light coming on or hindering performance?

Thanks
Chris

The only way to get rid of an o2 sensor is to put a carburetor on the engine. What the o2 sensor does is monitors the oxygen in the exhaust so the ecu knows how much gas to pour into the engine. When the o2 sensors wear out and are no longer sending readings the computer the default is to run rich. The easiest solution to your problem is to replace the o2 sensors.

get a new o2 sensor and problem solved. the eliminators only work with ones behind the cat and do not change the a/f ratio.

I knew that there were o2 eliminators for the o2 sensor after cat but was not sure if they would work on the other o2 sensor.
Thanks

what year is it? the 87-91 only had one sensor on them, easy to replace. 318 slt is right, put a carb on it and the problem is solved, no more sensors, by the way you might as well drop a 340 rat in it for added power. sweeeeeeeeet!

sorry i get carried away, i'm old school

My truck actually has a 360 magnum from a 1998 ram 1500
and I would like to carb it but I just got a set of polished stainless headers and dual 2.5 inch exhaust header back turned out in front of the rear tires. so the carb will have to wait. Wheels and tires are next along with custom made upper a arms to correct the camber gona have S.D.H.Q in phoenix fab them

the 360 fuel injected is a real nice engine, i just like carbs because there so easy and cheap to work on without all those sensors and computers. i spend a lot of time in the the deep woods fishing so the less that can go wrong the better. in your case i would just replace the O2 sensors, it's cheap and simple.
