Default Trany problems

Hey guys, im new here but love anything mopar!! I just put my 93 dakota on the road and after a couple of days it just started to keep shifting between drive and second gear while i drive down the road. Is this a simple fix or am i in for a rebuild or trany swap??!!!

Its a 93 4x4 dakota 3.9 auto
with about 180,000 miles on it

To me it sounds like it just needs an adjustment. There is an adjustment screw on the shift linkage. Loosen the bolt and move down the adjuster, untill its in postion. Then tighten back up.

Cool trany problems

is it the three speed auto or the four speed?

93 only came in three speed with overdrive (4 speed). the 93 has a cable from the throttlebody to the throttle control valve on the tranny. adjust it like rt said and give it a try. if it's not quite right but better, any repair manual will give you the percise adjustments.
by the way, don't push the throttle control valve on the tranny foward with too much force or you might screw it, just enough to get it there.
