Default help with an engine swap.

does anyone know how much it would cost, and what all i would have to do to swap my dakotas 4 cyl engine with the 318????

I am not sure how much it would cost, but if you could find a parts Dakota with a 318 it couldn't be too much, or too difficult as you would have all the brackets and the wiring harness. It would just be a matter of hooking it all up and mounting the engine, and if you can get a truck with a good diff to you might even be able to swap it over as well.

it is hard to say exactly because of the availibility of parts from junk yard and stuff. in the faq 2 there is a link to my engine swap write up. i went from a v6 to v8 though. but you will need too add 4 injectors and mabey alot more sensors and stuff, not sure though. you could always grab the pcm out of the junk yard and all the wireing harness to go with it.
