Default 1988 dak. runs rough before warmup

ok I have a 1988 dakota,v6 TBI, automatic (62,000mi). It idles rough and seems to loose fuel when you accelerate and the engine is not warm. after it warms up it runs good, except at stops, where it hickups for a split second on acceleration.

I was thinking EGR, or TPS, but mech friend said fuel regulator. any ideas?

a sticking EGR (not seized) would cause this. the O2 sensor could be bad. check the FRQ at the top of the forum to check the sensors.

Smile seafoam!

I ran a can of seafoam through the system and the problem was just a memory after about 60 miles, i went ahead and changed the fuel regulator anyway.

well the problem is back. it's not too bad though. I think the regulator may have been part of it. Since thats replaced I'm going to take the EGR off and clean it. that'll probably do it because it's really not too bad, only on days that have started at about 55 degrees F.

Does any one have A/C Schematics? apparently Haynes does not think a/c or blower motor wiring exists! I'm thinking the compressor clutch isn't energizing
