No spark, no fuel
Let me start by saying I am new to this site and hello to all of yous Dakota owners. HELLO!
If you have the problem of no spark and no fuel, I can't stress enough, PLEASE, PLEASE check the wiring harness and splices near the power distrubution box!!!!! Over the last, almost 2 weeks, my neighbor and I went through all the other stuf that has been listed ie:, fuel pump, relay, distributor, crankshaft position sensor, etc..
After finding this site, and my neighbor another, we checked the wiring and found in the wrapped bundle below the PDB a splice so corroded it was no longer making connection. Cleaned those up and guess what.......The truck runs!!!!
As a side note, my 1998 Contour overheated and had to be towed today so my wife and I were with out a working vehicle for a few hours. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
