your off a tooth on the timing chain. whoever put the chain on didn't put the marks on the gears in alaignment.

The guy I got it from said that the dodge place put the timing chain on. So you think the dodge place got it a tooth off?

not to down anyone that works at the dodoge place or nothing, but if the one that did the repair for your truck has the same intellegence as the one in tallahassee i would be suprised it starts at all. it does sound like it could be a tooth off tough...

Tore the motor down to the timing chain and it was aliened right. Then I call the dodge place and ask to speak to a mechanic. He asks me if I check the gear under the distributor that the slot was to point to number 1 cylinder. Mine was pointing to the front of the motor. I think this will fix my problem when I get it back together.

Thanks for ever ones help

that could be the problem but why would your distributor be off by a tooth. they have to check the timing after the chain install and they would notice a problem, that would mean they did not fix the initial timing problem. also you don't have to remove the distributor to change the timing gears, so why would it be off a tooth.
the 94's have a crank position sensor that my 89 does not have (my timing is adjustable) i've heard of oil leaking from the valve cover gaskets down on the sensor and screwing things up. might be worth checking.
let us know what you find.

The only thing I can think that they done was let the cam come out some when they changed the timing chain & when they push it back in it was a tooth off. the truck has good power now.

Thanks, James
