Default '93 dakota 2.5 won't start, no fuel. *problem solved*

alright, i've been lurking and such and can't find what the problem to be.

I've got a '93 dakota with 285k on it, it will run with starting fluid but dies when the fluid burns up, i'm not getting any fuel, the relays are fine, i've checked both ASD relays and there is no fuel pump relay in the box, there is a spot for one, but no wires going into that spot. i hear them click when the key is turned. is it for sure the fuel pump?

the truck has been sitting for the past 5 years or so.

it does have some electrical bugs but thats going to be a whole different thread in itself.

also getting OBD code 12 *rolls eyes*

Just because they click doesn't mean they are good, just because the relay itself is good, doesn't mean the circuit is good. There could be an issue with wiring, bad splice perhaps. Continuity within the relay could also be bad. To check if the fuel pump is at least working (this doesn't rule out a bad fuel pump), listen for a whirring sound by the gas cap, preferrably as soon as it's turned on, if your hearing is sharp, you'll actually hear it from the driver side as you turn the key. With the miles you have on that, i wouldn't rule out the fuel pump (and it looks like you haven't), but I would still do some more investigating on the smaller stuff, the cheaper stuff

the fuel pump isn't coming on, no noise from it what so ever.

update:

fuel pump is dead, but still wasn't getting power.
i traced the wire all the way to the plug in the firewall, the pin for the fuelpump was corroded and had broken off into the female end.

dakota runs now.

$200 fuel pump
traced the hot wire from the pump to the big plug in the firewall, red white stripe wire was corroded and not connected, fixed that. also cleaned terminals.

runs like a top now.

it also fixed the lights and horn issue i had, fuses 6, 7, and 8 all have the same wire for power, red/white stripe.
