I have an 87 3.9l 4wd and the starter needs to be replaced. After tinkering with it, I realized that it is very difficult to put a wrench on either of the bolts and sockets don't seem to work at all because the exhaust manifold (among other things) is in the way of the top bolt and the front differential is in the way of the other bolt.
Any suggestions?
