Default box fitment

Hey guys just pulled my dakota out for the cold months:

1989, 3.9L reg cab, long box, 96668 miles on her and lovin it, she looks a bit rusty and there are a couple of dakotas in my area that are scrappers with little rust

84 ex cab with a shorter box obvioulsy http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/pts/886353049.html
and

an 88 that i have no pics for but it is 4x4 I am wondering about the box and front fenders if they are the same as my 89 or not, they are a little ways away so id like to find out in advance ya know....

any input is appreciated.
thanks in advance

The 88 would be best fit. Just make sure its the same size bed you got. There is no 84 dakota. That is a typo. Its probably is a 94. The 94 should fit. The books say the front fenders are all the same from 87-96.

well seeing the pictures, and the fact that dodge didnt make the dakota in 84, I think the one on craigslist is actually a 94. It's a little different, but im not sure how much the fenders and the quarters changed over those years. Obviously the biggest difference is the grille.

Most of the newer daks are interchangeable with the earlier models, the core support and front fascia were the biggest differences, not to mention several other little things, the beds were basically all the same with minor changes, but the changes were mostly in the tailgates

haha well now I am super confuse, now we are thinking since its an extended cab that the length from the front of the box to the front of the wheel wells will be too short most likely, the front fenders I believe will still fit, the guy said for 130$ I can take whatever parts I want from it which is dope but I dont want to be stuck with a box I cant use, it will end up going to the smasher ya know.

We measured the box from the front of th fender to the cab and it was 21" and mine is 31 so we don't see it fitting mine....mine measures 33

He is however going to let me have the front fenders and 4 plastic wheel flares for 60$ which I thought to be a very good price when looking around at the different prices...
