I actually removed the 4 screws that held the filler tube and cowl to the box. So that it was a little easier when aligning everything to put it back together. But you could disconnect the filler tube from the cowl with those three screws.

When i remove the pump will I be destroying any gaskets? Am doing this to fix fuel gage problem. Will be putting the same pump back.

No, but when you are putting the pump back into the tank I would highly suggest putting some grease on the rubber gasket so that you dont accidentally tear it. At least with mine you have to exactly center it up and then press down firmly, but I was using a new pump and new gasket. Some WD-40 on the filler tube donut wouldnt hurt while you are there.
