Default Transmission Also

My transmission is constintely soaked in ATF think the seals are bad? The Transfer case also leaks like hell, and it is shifting funny into 2nd gear, the whole truck jumps. I may just put a new tranny in it and sell it. I constantly have problems with it but I love the truck it is my first and I have had it for about a year, but I am seriously considering fixing it and selling it to get a different dodge. I have just had problem after problem, it has 185k miles on it and I do keep regular mantinance, just cant take all the crap anymore. May just buy a different type of truck. The rear seal is also leaking, would love to fix and sell.

If you have 185k on the original transmission you've gone over average for when it goes. Just have the transmission rebuilt. You may just need to just re-gasket the T-case and all could be well. Or, you just may need to recheck the torque on all the bolts.

Good luck.

i would just rebuild the trans, mine shifts into 2nd hard also but i have 177k mi on the original mtr/trans, and on my rearend it is the rubber plug that has excessive seepage but it is not to the point of saying that it leaks
sometimes the trans can be fun when it grabs second hard like when it is raining, sleeting, or snowing kuz you can try to go slow but when it grabs 2nd it will kick sideways and it fun once in a while

You know, I thought about selling my truck after all the problems I had with it, but than I looked at the list of NEW stuff I just put on it: transmission, water pump, timing chain, transfer case, and I thought "Heck, I'd be selling the next guy a new truck, might as well hold on to it!"
I think if your gonna go thru the pain of replacing the rear seal, transmission, and transfer case, on top of whatever you've already replaced, you might as well keep the truck, since there's no way you'd ever make money on it.
Thus why my truck is waiting for me to get a hydraulic press so I'll give her a whole new front end. I figure I'm past the point of no return, might as well dump all the money I can into it!
