sea foam vs Luca gas treatment and where is boost?
An auto parts man told me Sea foam does the same thing as Lucas fuel additive, without the smoke.
What is the 3 step program? He said the first part goes into a boost hose or something like that rather than the gas tank. Where is this boost hose and how much goes in?
I have a '94 Dakota, 6 cyl.
Thanks. Bob

Let the engine get up to operating temperatures. Use a straw, sucks it up easier. I use the whole can through the brake booster. You can use a little in the gas tank for the lines and injectors, but I prefer Marvel Mystery Oil for that.
I was able to get through 2 Seafoams before it started foiling my plugs. It may or may not do it to you.
Wait about 20-30 minutes for it to set, start it up and drive it around until there's no more smoke coming out of the exhaust.

also, if you put any seafoam in the crank case do it right before you're going to do an oil change. even though its a petroleum product seafoam WILL thin out your oil. I usually put 1/3 in the vacuum line, 1/3 in the gas tank and 1/3 in the case. then take it for a quick drive and jack up the front end and drain out the oil and put in fresh mobil1 fully synthetic. Its best to drain the oil while its still hot, that way you can get out any gunk that has been broken up before it settles back in the bottom of the pan. Keep in mind im talking about doing this on my 01 dakota not my 88. I dont want anyone to think that seafoam allowed my 88 to get up to 250,000 miles, I bought it with like 240,000 miles. Ive thought about doing a seafoam treatment but im afraid if I do that I might break loose like a 20 pound chunk of carbon and blow it up or something.... some things are just best left alone.
