How to get the spare tire off
I have a 1996 Dakota sport and need to get the spare off. Do you just turn that thing like a nut? And it will come off? I noticed a bar that goes threw the top also.

Yes just turn it counter clock ways. Its a cable crank. It might be a little stuck with dirt or rust. Just keep turning untill the tire is on the ground. Simalar to this vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxRLGDE0dF4
