Default Problem

I started my dakota the other evening and it idled rough. Then it died and I got it to start back but it died after about 1 minute. So I put a new distributor cap and rotor button on it. It ran for about 5 seconds and then died and I heard a whistling noise when it died. What could cause this to happen?

It sounds like the IAC. If you press down the gas and hold does it die? If it doesnt die it could be the IAC. If it does die it is the fuel pump.
