Does anybody know if the manifolds on the 91 and 92 5.2L are the same at the throttle body?

I would not consider that to be a bad thing. My truck, when the trans shifts into overdrive and the torque converter locks up, is under 1500 rpm at 55. The way my truck is geared it will go 80 mph @ 2000 rpm. It helps your gas milage out to have the engine running at a lower rpm at the same speed.

I was shocked that it dropped that much. I was wondering if it would.

Well what tranny do you have and does it have a lockup torque converter? Also what rear end gears do you have and what size tires? Theres a lot of factors that determine what the engine rmp is at a certain speed.

The label under the hood said 3.9 gears A500 tranny and a lock up converter. Im running 235 75 16's tires.

The 3.90 gears will have something to do with it. My truck has 3.55 and I have 265/75R16's, but one of these days I'm gonna change them to either 3.90 or 4.11 if they make the 4.11 for both axles. You probably shouldnt worry about it. What I don't understand though is if the torque converter has a lockup clutch in it the RPMs shouldnt vary at the same speed on the highway unless it's not locking.

Its now running about 1900 rpm at 55mph and was running at about 2200 2300ish when I had that one cylinder not firing. I was conparing the RMP ranges with my truck and my ford escape for the same rmp in the earlier post. Would switching to 3.55 gears better my milage? I believe the pinion bearing is going out as there is a little play in the drive shaft when going from park the drive or vise versa so I will probally be getting that fixed before next winter anyhow.
