Ok, so where i put the gauge on, it looks alot like the port in which you recharge A/C? I think that i can manage that.

The truck is in Lees Summit, so its 45 min closer to you. If i do get into a tight spot i will definitely shoot you a message on here.

What kind of pressure should the gauge be reading?

Yes exactly thats its. The book says that fuel pressure should be around 35-45 PSI at idle.

I called autozone and they have one that they lend out for $150 and i can hold it up to 90 days without losing my deposit. I will probably pick that up tonight!

Another thing.... You said that the filter on the frame is black? When i was tapping mine, i believe it was a silver/metal color.

Welcome to the forum!
sometimes the fuel filters are black and sometimes they are silver, it all depends on manufacturer, I also had a '93 5.2L and my original fuel filter was black. (I don't know if it was the original to the truck, but original in the sense that I replaced it, truck had 169k so I hope it wasn't original to the truck!)

I ran into a similar problem on my '92 3.9 with the cutting out after taking off or stopping. It really seemed like it wasn't getting fuel, so I checked all things fuel related, even changed the fuel pressure regulator to no avail. Finally i tore apart the wiring harness going into the fuse box (under hood) and fixed the splice to the Auto Shut Down circuit and also replaced the relay (A/C didn't work anyway so I stole the relay from it ). Well the truck still did it. The computer was still telling me I had an issue with ASD, so I unplugged the computer and plugged it back in after giving it a thorough cleaning of the terminals (needed to be done anyway), plugged it back up and never had a problem with the ASD since. Although after 2 months of playing with that, 2 months of trouble shooting braking issues and another two months of body work, and a day to replace the radiator, the transmission gave me the big "F-U" and quit on me

Well... it has been a while since i posted. I havent been able to attempt anything on the truck until today.
Here is what occurred today....

I uncovered the wires under the fuse box under the hood. I checked the splices, and they looked really good.
I went ahead and changed the fuel filter. Still nothing.....
I went ahead and replaced the fuel pump. It started up just fine! It was idling at about 33-34 PSI.

I let the truck just sit in the driveway running for about 20 min.
I thought everything was fine, so i figured that i would drive it around the block. I shut the hood, hopped into the truck and before i could even put my foot on the brake to shift it into gear..... it died.......... and now it wont start.

The fuel pressure gauge is showing 0 PSI now....

Basically what im thinking is that i wasted $175 on a Fuel pump, $16 on a filter and about 5 hours of my life.....

Im thinking that it has to be some kind of electrical issue.

What can i do next? I am about to pull my hair out.... i need this truck to be running!
