Default No brakes!

okay. 92 dakota.

not sure of all the technical names. so work with me here.

day one. all the brakes are fine. the very next day. nothing happened, nothing changed, sat over night. went to drive it. no brakes..

pulled over noticed the FRONT rez on the master is almost empty. turn around go home. fill it up. 15 seconds later its almost empty again. so i said **** it and took the car.

well i get it in the garage, and fill it again( it didnt go anywhere. 20 feet in the garage thats it) fill it again. empty.

bla bla bla

went to bleed the rear brakes, cant get anything from the, like 2 PSI, almost nothing..

didnt get to the fronts. but im thinking its the master... pull the master off the booster. nothing leaking behind it....

thoughts?

Thanks

Chad

The fulid is going somewhere follow the lines to each wheel. that much fluid loss you should find it somewhere....

there are literally no leaks, the cylinders only have TRACE amounts fluid on them..nothing to justify where the fluid is going.

I was wondering if the prop vavle, the little end that points towards the front end of the truck, the nipple that it has on it. it is pushed out, its been like that for a long time..its rusted and ****. On chevs, when it pops out that means the prop valve is F-ed. anyone got some insight on this for me? I wonder this because when bleeding the rear brakes, there is almost happening, as mentioned..

also, the " RABS" device, not sure thats what it is actually called its on the left rear frame, it has wires and lines going to it. can that be hard wired around? like completely bypassed?

The truck is definatly getting a new master cylinder..just to put it out there...

And, the master is staying full now, or so it appears, but it was going down fast enough that i could watch it, and in like 20 seconds it was empty..

Thanks
Chad

Here is an odd one that happened on both of my dakotas. Check the metal lines going to both front wheels. On both of my trucks, the metal lines would eventually start to rub on the inner fender, between the plastic\rubber piece that is connected to the bottom of the inner fender, and the inner fender itself, and would eventually wear a small hole in the line. The reason we couldnt find the leak for a couple days on the one i just got a month ago, was because it would run down the piece that is attached to the inner fender, and pool in the frame.
