need help with 94 dakota 4x4 trans

Default need help with 94 dakota 4x4 trans

i have a 94 dakota with v6 4x4 with auto trans and need a trans can anyone tell me if a 4x4 auto trans out of a 95 dakota with a v8 is the same or if it will work behind the v6

A '94 is a 1st gen dakota, so this thread should be moved...

But to answer your question, yes the transmissions are compatible. You'll want to use the flex plate for the v6, but the transmission will bolt up. A 46rh is basically a "beefed up" 42rh, and the engine blocks are identical except for the extra 2 cylinders.

Lol, no, the V6 has 2 missing cylinders.

Lol, I meant the v8 block is identical to the v6 but with 2 extra cylinders, but whichever way you try to word it you know what I meant.
