Dakota transfer case inner change with Ram
I'm Wondering what the difference between the Np 231 D for a dodge ram vs The dakotas NP 231 D is?
I cant find a 231 D Dakota Transfer case; But i did find 1 for a the same year dodge ram. Im wondering what i would all need to change over so it would work for my Dakota? Or can it even be Done?
Please Help
Thanks Fortheluvofdakotas
So the output shat is different to the Rear drive shat! My thought to fix that is inner change the Ram Yoke that should be easy; is it gonna change the Balance of the shaft.
Ty for the response im gonna check the Input shat but my guess is it wont. Maybe a little more research..

You can check local junkyards, your local craigslist, ebay, or if you want to spend the money for a new or freshly rebuilt one, you can look at a good transmission and transfer case distributor like drivetrain.com.
You'll want to look for one off a Dakota or Ram. The Jeep, Chevy, and Ford versions of the transfer case are all different.
Also, for future reference, your 2000 is a 2nd gen, so you should post in the 2nd gen subforum.
