Default Engine shuts down

My 96 Dakota Sport 2.5 MFI starts, runs for short while then shuts off like it was turned off. I have changed the fuel pump and filter, sealed vacuum lines, crank sensor, timing set. pickup plate, coil, spark plugs and wires, and replaced o rings on injectors. I have checked the fuel pressure and throttle body.

I'm looking for any suggestions and cures to the problem.

when it shuts off. does it start back up immediately, or does it take awhile ?
and if it doesn't start back up immediately - do you have fire at the spark plugs ? this identifies if its electrical or fuel...

does it cough and sputter before it stalls or does it just up and shut off?

Read through the FAQ, there is a picture of the notorious "splice" that you should check under the hood. Also check your relays after you check the splice.

I have to shut the key off for a short while, then it runs for a shorter period. The longer I wait the longer it runs.

Same problem I had as my splice was failing. The problem changed slightly from turning over and running for a short time to eventually turning over and never running unless I poured gasoline directly into the intake.
