Computer compatibility question
you know i was wanting to go lower, because of the bigger tires, does anyone have any suggestions on a link as to the best place to find my gears would be. had 3:75's with stock tires went to 33in tires, thinking i need atleast 4:11's
Do you mean 3.55's? These trucks didn't come with 3.75s. With our little 7.25 front diff, 4.11s are as low as you can go. As far as where to get them, there's lots of places, just google search them to find the best price. The only reason I want to go higher is because my new transmission has lower ratios than the automatic I had.
LOL, I made this thread go waaaaay off topic :P

Check FAQ2, there is a link to the walk-through post I wrote up about it. It was not hard, but it was a lot of work. It was 100% worth it though, I love my truck as a straight drive. There is a 12-15% power loss in the torque converter in an automatic transmission, but almost 100% of the 318s power is transferred to the ground with the manual, and its a noticable difference. Now I just need to find the right gearing to get more use out of the power gain.
