Default computer codes

k, so i found the thread where it tells me what each code means and how to decifer whats what. now, these are the codes i got...

15 No vehicle speed sensor signal
12 Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles
32 EGR system failure

my question is, how do i fix the egr system, or even diagnose what needs to be done with it, and wtf is the vehicle speed sensor? my spedo works fine... and im assuming the direct battery input to PCM being disconnected in the last 50 key on cycles just means the battery has been disconnected recently right?

Yeah 12 is useless.

The egr code is typically a failed egr valve. The valve is about $100 or so to fix that problem. If your area doesn't require emissions inspection, its up to you. If you fix it you may see an ever so slight increase in gas milage, but thats about it. Mine pulls that code, but I'm not worrying about it cause my state doesn't do emissions on pre-OBDII. When I build the new motor I'm getting rid of all the emissions crap.

I don't know about 15, if the spedometer works fine I don't have any ideas.

If the egr is bad, the truck will run fine for a while, but eventually it will stall out or at least attempt to stall out. I threw in the towel and bought mine after it stalled while I was backing into my spot at home. As for the speed sensor, do you ever notice a jump in the tachometer? That's what was wrong with my '95 when I had this code, then it progressed to the speedo not responding right away, then, somehow, the retaining "clip" that holds the wires to the sensor to the frame, came loose and my front drive shaft caught it and ripped it straight out! Needless to say, I had no choice but to replace it and fix the damage. back to my point, the comouter is probably catching something you haven't seen yet, give it time and I'm sure you'll start seeing the symptoms
