are magnum and la blocks the same?

just wondering fi the magnum engine blocks are the same as the la engines?was it just the heads up that were changed?

They are similar but magnums have improvements. Allar.com will have ALL the details.

90% the same, just the oiling setup and something else(can't think off hand) were modified. Different motor mounts as well.

motor mounts were the same for the 239 and 318 LA and magnum. too much work for dodge to change them

You can bolt a magnum in place of a LA block but you can't just BOLT a LA in place of a magnum. LA blocks have only front mounts and magnum have both but sit on the mid mounts.
