Default Electric fans

So when installing a 318 into my 89 dakota do i have to remove the fan from the engine and then install an electric fan? Does the fan go on the front of the radiator or on the backside of it inside the engine compartment? i would assume backside since it would be pushing air just as the fan on the engine would?

Thanks

Actually the engine fan pulls air. If you want to set up a pusher electric fan, it must go on the front of the radiator, outside the engine compartment.

Haha after i typed that i thought about it and realized that they indeed pull the air so it will have to go on the outside.

Thanks

dont quote me on this, but, i was under the impression that you could install one on the inside of the engine compartment too, just like the factory fan, but, only quite a bit smaller?

well most fans are universal push or pull so if "thin" enough it doesnt matter if depending on the fan wherther its on the front or inside the engine compartment.
