From what I've heard they are way better than any "performance chip" out there. I have one and I love it. They do require you use at least 91 octane gas because they change the stock timing tables. Also, if you add any more performance parts, you'll feel them more with the MP Computers cause they have a wider fuel map. Also from what I've heard, they elimitate both the high speed and rev limiters... so if you have a manual transmission be careful because you can wind the motor till it blows.

As for tunable... not really. There is a company called B&G performance PCM that can reflash them.

the rev limiter stays but it moves it up to 6300, which is plenty and sounds cool . i love like mine alot. i tried 87 in mine once too a few weeks ago, ran like dooty, it was labor knocking and had no power. but on 93 it is great.

Ah, I guess I heard wrong about the rev limiter... but the highest I've ever dared to turn mine was 5600. Maybe everybody just assumes there is no rev limiter cause nobody wants to wind up the old tired motor high enough to hit it!

the gauge does not work really good, it likes to dance around all the time. it actully gets about 16.5 to 17 mpg driving like that all the time

What gears do you have? I've been averaging 15.5 mpg shifting around 4800 with a heavy foot with the new 5 speed (about 1-2 better than the auto got), but I have 31.5 inch tires and 3.55 gears, and the added weight/resistance of the 4x4 drivetrain.

i got 3.55s too but with a 26 inch tire, so it is like a 3.70 really. i have the v6 tranny too so i get less of a power loss and a better over drive i think. it is a .69 o/d on mine
