I have a 1992 dodge dakota with a 2.5 4cyl. with a 5 speed, 2wd. I love this truck alot nice color great body. But the 2.5 is...slow. I recently aquired a 1993 5.2 v8 magnum dakota, automatic, with 4wd. engine is great...powered well...but my frame is bent and is a friggin hack job. what would i need to do to swap them...i dont know if the wiring on the 2.5 would work, keep in mind i have the donor truck, with everything...I currently drive it but the tranny only has 2nd. which really sucks on gas, and cant be great for the engine i imagine. plus the frame makes it look rediculous. let me know please.

 

Have you read the "SWAP" thread in the FAQ2? It is pretty close to what you want to do and is a great place to start reading.

 

I don't know much about the 4clys but since you got both. Check to see if you got the correct v8 motor mount location holes in the other. Like said above check the FAQ2 for v6 to v8. These will give you Ideas. Tell us what you find. And you will need a 2wd tranny for the v8.
