Default calling all 2.5 gurus

I have a 91, 2.5 that slung the number one rod and destroyed the block and crank. In my search for an engine I have multiple options for pulling one from a K-car. but I noticed that the mass rebuilt ones specify between front and rear wheel drive. What is the difference if any between the K-car engines and the Dakota engines?

I'm not sure at all. But the place to look would be http://www.allpar.com/eek/k/k.html they have a dakota section too. Check there to find it's engine.

I have read a lot on that site and haven't found anything that mentions they are different, I guess I will give it a shot.
