Default Engine & Tranny swap questions

I have a 92 C/C 4x4 with a 318 and auto. The motor is blown and not rebuildable. I am going to swap in a 360 from a 1995 ram 1500. I am thinking of swapping in a nv3500 from a 1995 ram 1500 4x4. I know what I need for the swap however I do have one question. To avoid the computer issues would it be possible for me to swap in a computer from a 1994-95 ram 1500 360 4x4 5sp into my Dakota? Would the dakota factory harness plug into that computer. This will greatly influence my direction. I appreciate all the responses.

There is one problem you might run into with that computer swap. Your speedometer is cable driven, with an electronic speed sensor going to the computer for cruise control. The '94 and '95 dakotas have a fully electronic speed sensor setup, with no cable. So the computer might not properly talk to the speed sensor in your truck. I know if you try to use a '92-'93 computer in the '94-'95 trucks, the speedometer won't work, but there is a small chance you will be fine... it all depends on if the old style speed sensor talks to the newer computer.

Ok so if I go with this setup I either need to put a 1993 Ram 1500 360 5sp 4x4 pcm into my dakota or put in a 318 mopar performance pcm?

If you go with the MP computer, you will want to use this one...

I edited my first post after you replied, so you might want to go back and re-read what I added.

Thanks that was the computer I was looking at. I'll probably go that way unless I know for sure that a 1993 Ram150 pcm will work. Sure would be nice to find a 360 mopar pcm for a manual.
