Default Anyone ever remove spark plug shieldS?

Just curious if anyone ever removed the plug shields in an effort to run the plugs cooler?

i removed mine on my 3.9 v6... no ill effects, just spray some pb blaster (can get it anywhere auto parts are sold, not autozone exclusive).. take some vice grips, start clamping down on them and twist. they'll come out. do it at a time you plan on doing a tune up, in case you bang up your spark plugs and or/ break them. this way youre not setting yoruself back. good set of wires from napa will be fine without the heat shields.

Ya its best to keep them on. There are ment to keep the heat away from the plug wires. Without them nothing will happen, good or too bad. But they wouldn't put them on if they didn't work.
