engine runs hot only when working it....
If it is the radiator I would personally be happy. It might cost a little bit to buy a new one, but it is an easy repair and you found the problem relatively painlessly. If you are planning on flushing it, my recommendation would be to take it into a radiator shop and let them do it. You can take it out and bring it in, sometimes that is cheaper. Just tell them you want it checked and flushed. My shop actually sold me a new radiator when mine was leaking for the cheapest price around. Although, if you are pretty sure it is the radiator, replacing it isn't a bad idea. Has it ever been replaced? If it is OEM, you have to figure you got a good 18 years out of it.
