Default Installing front crankshaft oil seal question

I am down to the last gasket, the timing chain cover gasket, and I am starting to reassemble the engine shortly (318). My question is this. The service manual calls out for use of SPECIAL TOOL 6635 to set the front crankshaft oil seal. Has anyone else used this? Or you just put some oil on it and tap it in carefully?

They don't even rent them out. It is a special dealer custom tool from what I gather. nothing to it really, if I need to I will just tap it in gentle and make sure I get it centered. But figured somone else may have had a really good idea for it.
